Mohandas Karmachand Gandhi was born on October 2nd, 1869 in the village of Porbandar, Gujarat, India. He was the son of Karmachand Gandhi and Putlibai Gandhi. He was born in the time when the British ruled India. In 1879 Mohandas Gandhi starts the Taluka Primary School in Rajkot. In 1880 he starts Kathiawar High School in Rajkot. When he was thirteen he was married to Kasturbai Makanji whom he eventually has four sons, who are named Harilal Gandhi, Manilal Gandhi, Ramdas Gandhi and Devdas Gandhi. In 1885, Gandhi’s father Karmachand Gandhi dies. In 1888 he enters college at Bhavanagar, but he leaves at the end of his first term.
